Vice President Vance Delivers Candid Political Assessments in Viral Social Media Segment
During a rapid-fire social media video, Vice President JD Vance offered his unvarnished opinions on a range of prominent political figures, from congressional leaders to administration officials.

Vice President JD Vance provided a series of direct assessments Thursday of several notable political personalities during a quick-paced TikTok video. In his remarks, he labeled Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat, a "communist," called Senator Jon Ossoff, a Georgia Democrat, "lame," and described New York City Council Member Zohran Mamdani as "crazy."
The vice president participated in a segment where names of Democrats, Trump administration officials, and other political figures appeared sequentially on a screen. His task was to describe each person, resulting in a 30-second flurry of responses that varied from flattering to sharply critical.
Critiques of Democratic Figures
Vance appeared particularly critical of progressive Democrats. He characterized Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer as "cranky" and Abdul El-Sayed, Michigan's Democratic Senate nominee, as "odd."
However, one of Vance's most dismissive comments was reserved for Senator Adam Schiff, a California Democrat.
"I mean, nothing," Vance stated when Schiff's name was displayed. "Irrelevant."
A momentary pause in the video, marked by a SpongeBob-style graphic stating "two minutes later," preceded Vance's commentary on Schiff.
When Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) leader Megan Romer's name came up, the usually outspoken vice president was unusually brief, simply responding, "No comment."
Praise for Administration Allies
Vance's evaluations were considerably more positive when individuals from the Trump administration appeared. He described outgoing White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt as "awesome," Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller as "hardcore," and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles as "tough."
Regarding Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Vance found him "interesting." He called Secretary of State Marco Rubio "funny" and House Speaker Mike Johnson "kind."
President Donald Trump received a particularly warm review from his second-in-command.
"Generous," Vance remarked about the president.
The video offered a more lighthearted insight into Vance's working relationships within the administration while also providing him an opportunity to criticize several prominent progressive Democrats and self-described democratic socialists.
