Dodgers Star Kiké Hernández Shares Fan's Critical Letter, Exposing Personal Information
Utility player Kiké Hernández, who chose to forgo the team's upcoming White House celebration, publicly shared a critical letter from a fan, including the sender's return address.

Los Angeles Dodgers fan favorite Kiké Hernández, known for his impactful postseason performances and affable demeanor, recently found himself embroiled in controversy. His decision to skip the team's forthcoming July 23 visit to the White House, intended to commemorate their 2026 World Series championship, sparked a heated exchange.
Hernández's White House Decision
The 34-year-old utility player's official reason for missing the Washington trip is to begin a minor-league rehabilitation assignment for a strained left oblique. Hernández acknowledged the scheduling conflict, stating, "It's going to be hard to be in two cities at the same time." However, he also offered a more direct perspective, adding, "If I was active, I probably wouldn't have gone anyways."
This candid admission drew a strong reaction from a fan identified as Larry, who dispatched a typed letter to the ballpark directly addressing the Puerto Rican-born athlete.
Fan's Angry Letter and Player's Response
"Mr. Hernandez, after hearing about the horrible experience during your last visit to the White House and your excuse for your absence this year, it seems clear that you are just a disrespectful, spoiled, pampered, entitled little brat. Remember, you work for an organization that promotes a group (The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence) that disparages and denigrates the entire Catholic religion."
Rather than discarding the critical correspondence, Hernández took a photograph of the letter and shared it with his 1.5 million social media followers, conspicuously including Larry's unredacted return address.
He accompanied the post with a caption: "SO to Larry for the nice letter! Next time, at least make it handwritten, you nice sir!"
Broader Context of White House Visits
Hernández is not the only member of the Dodgers roster expected to forgo the Washington D.C. trip. While he did attend the team's White House visit in April 2025 following their 2024 championship, he later expressed regret regarding that experience.
Star teammate Mookie Betts is also anticipated to skip the July 23 event. Betts previously garnered attention when he chose not to visit the White House with the Boston Red Sox in 2019, during the administration of then-President Donald Trump.
Hernández has historically been outspoken in his opposition to former President Trump’s immigration policies.
Tensions reached a peak surrounding the Dodgers in 2025 after rumors circulated about the presence of immigration officials at Dodger Stadium. While initial reports suggested Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel were targeting fans, it was later confirmed that these were California Border Control agents conducting routine operations, separate from local enforcement sweeps.
Historically, championship White House visits served as a widely accepted, bipartisan celebration for victorious sports teams. Today, these events frequently transform into arenas for ideological debate.
Regardless of one's stance on the fan's critique or the player's actions, the act of publicly exposing a fan's personal address in response to a written complaint raises ethical concerns.
