Mitchell's exceptional night also placed her alongside another of the league's most prominent athletes. Her remarkable scoring output marked her 20th consecutive game with at least 20 points, a streak that now matches four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson for the longest of its kind in WNBA history.

Despite her dominant showing, Mitchell departed the game late in the third quarter after an intense scoring burst that saw her net eight points in less than a minute. She did not return to the court, with Fever head coach Stephanie White later explaining that Mitchell had become "overheated."

Aliyah Boston added 16 points for the Fever, while Sophie Cunningham was perfect from beyond the arc, sinking all three of her 3-point attempts to finish with 13 points. The Fever maintained a lead throughout the entire contest, bringing their recent record to 10 wins in their last 12 games. Conversely, the Toronto Tempo extended their losing streak to 11 consecutive games.

Toronto's Marina Mabrey attempted to spark a comeback late in the final period, hitting back-to-back 3-pointers to narrow the deficit to 97-93. However, the Tempo could not close the gap further.

During the Fever's initial visit to Toronto this season, Sophie Cunningham's entry into the game was met with a mixed reception of cheers and boos from the crowd. Fans also voiced their approval when she missed her first free-throw attempt. Cunningham had previously shared her views in an ESPN profile published last month, expressing opposition to transgender girls and women participating in girls' and women's sports.

Later in the fourth quarter, during a timeout, spectators cheered enthusiastically when a banner advocating for transgender rights was displayed on the arena's video screen.
