Fitness Trainer Elena Moore's Mysterious Death: Taxi Ride Becomes Key to Unraveling Disappearance
New details emerge regarding the final movements of a South Carolina fitness trainer whose body was discovered days after her disappearance, with a taxi journey playing a key role in the investigation.
U.S.·

A recently obtained incident report sheds new light on the final known activities of a South Carolina fitness trainer before her mysterious disappearance and subsequent death. Elena Katherine Moore, 39, was discovered deceased on June 19, approximately a week after she was last seen on June 11 following a visit to a Planet Fitness gym in Lexington, South Carolina. A forensic autopsy, conducted by the Lexington County Coroner's Office and detailed on June 22, revealed no indications of external trauma, such as bruising, lacerations, gunshot wounds, stab wounds, blunt force injuries, or strangulation.
Crucial Taxi Ride Details
According to the incident report, a taxi was arranged for Moore after she left an unspecified location. She then instructed the driver to make a stop at a local CVS store in Lexington. This stop marked the last time the cab driver saw Moore. When she did not return to the vehicle, the driver entered the store but was unable to locate her. Her husband, identified as Slice, later informed an officer that he went to the Planet Fitness facility Moore frequently attended. An employee there confirmed that Moore had signed in at 6:38 p.m. on June 11. Following this, Moore was not seen again until her body was found on June 19.
Ongoing Investigation and Lack of Charges
At present, no individuals, including Moore's husband, have been accused of any wrongdoing or charged with a crime in connection with her death. Inspector Missy Silcox of the Lexington Police Department stated recently that Slice "is not a person of interest at the current moment."
Lexington Police Department Chief Terrence Green indicated that law enforcement located Moore's body after receiving a tip that directed investigators to a previously unsearched area. Moore was last observed walking through the Publix parking lot located at 100 Old Cherokee Road in Lexington on the evening of June 11.
A Friend's Preceding Concerns
A close friend, Campbell, shared that she felt something was "very different" during their last encounter on May 31, prior to Moore's disappearance.
"She was scared for her life. She actually said those words to me," Campbell recounted. "Elena is one of my best friends. I've known her over probably 10 years now. We're really close like tell each other everything. She's been that person for me for a long time."
