The incident occurred during a one-on-one drill against tight end Cole Kmet, where Bryant collapsed and immediately grabbed his knee. Subsequent medical evaluation, however, revealed a less dire prognosis than his initial concerns suggested.

Initial Injury and Diagnosis

The injury is not expected to be season-ending. According to reports, the safety is projected to miss approximately eight to ten weeks, having sustained a hyperextended knee, a bone bruise, and a minor fracture.

Bryant joined the Bears this offseason on a three-year, $40 million contract, a key acquisition intended to fortify a secondary that underwent significant changes due to several player departures. He was anticipated to be a cornerstone of the defense, having established himself as a valuable player during his rookie contract with the Seahawks, where he recorded seven interceptions and contributed to their Super Bowl victory.

While his availability for Week 1 of the regular season, still five weeks away, remains uncertain, the expectation is that his absence will not be prolonged once the season commences.
