Sydney Sweeney Performs Daring Airplane Stunt, Playfully Challenges Tom Cruise

Actress Sydney Sweeney has issued a lighthearted challenge to Hollywood icon Tom Cruise after she was filmed strapped to the exterior of an airplane mid-flight.

On Monday, Sweeney posted a video on social media showing herself holding a GoPro camera while positioned atop a moving single-engine aircraft. The footage captured the plane performing multiple inversions, flipping upside down as the Emmy-nominated star remained calmly secured.

“watch out tom cruise,” Sweeney captioned the post, directly referencing Cruise’s reputation for performing his own high-stakes stunts.

Throughout the daring aerial display, Sweeney maintained her composure. She was casually dressed in leggings and a navy crew neck, with her hair styled in pigtail braids.

Following Sweeney’s playful jab at the veteran stunt performer, the official Instagram account for the “Top Gun” film franchise responded to her post, commenting: “Feel the need for speed🔥👏✈️.”

Summer Adventures and Superhero Fun

Just days before sharing the airplane stunt video, Sweeney provided a glimpse into her summer activities, much of which she spent with her boyfriend, Scooter Braun.

On Saturday, August 22, Sweeney posted on Instagram with the caption, “Camp ’26,” accompanied by a superhero emoji. The images revealed a superhero-themed getaway for the couple at a lakeside location, with Sweeney channeling the spirit of Lynda Carter's iconic Wonder Woman.

The Instagram carousel featured Sweeney, 28, in a Wonder Woman-inspired corset costume and coordinating headband, alongside Braun, 45, dressed as Superman. One video clip showed Sweeney maintaining her balance on an inflatable water obstacle course while Braun navigated a jet ski nearby. Additional photos depicted the couple enjoying swimming, sunbathing, and singing karaoke.

A Growing Romance

Sweeney and Braun’s relationship first garnered attention in 2025, reportedly after they met at the wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez. Sweeney publicly confirmed their romance in April 2026 by sharing an intimate photograph on Instagram that showed Braun embracing her.
